Drawing the Collection

Thursday, 29 January 2026
About this event
Drawing the Collection is a monthly, adult-focused workshop held on the last Thursday of each month. Each session takes inspiration from a painting or an exhibition, giving participants the chance to draw directly from works in the galleries with guidance from the facilitating artist. All materials are provided by the Gallery.
This month, we’re taking inspiration from both the AIB Portrait Prize and the AIB Young Portrait Prize. Former Young Prize exhibitor Ross McHale will be leading the session, exploring how to create a portrait and how different elements can be used to reflect social themes and individual personalities in the work.
Readers are advised to check with the venue before relying on the details published here.
